Long Covid

Person slumped at desk struggling with illness recovery like Long CovidStruggling with fatigue and other symptoms from Long Covid?

It sounds all too familiar.

As someone that suffered with Chronic Fatigue for over 4 years I really empathise with the struggle people recovering from Coronavirus are going through.

One in 10 of those who’ve had the virus have experienced symptoms not just of fatigue but also breathlessness, joint pain, anxiety or brain fog.

Interestingly, all of those aside from the breathlessness were symptoms I experienced with Chronic Fatigue.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting they are one and the same but I do think there are things we can learn from them.

For example CFS is often talked about as having a viral cause and for me while I did have the flu before getting to my worst, I experienced stomach symptoms age 5, had an anxiety attack aged 9 before getting really sick in my late teens.

Essentially my body was trying to tell me something way before the virus came along.

What I know now is that the body is incredibly intelligent but we often misinterpret it.

We know that stress plays a big part in the creation of illness. Though Coronavirus spreads incredibly quickly if we are stressed our immune system won’t be equipped to adequately fight it off or may mean it takes us longer to recover.

I’ve spent nearly 15 years since I got well, helping others get better by treating the cause of their illness and helping them to see that their fatigue isn’t their body’s way of telling them to rest.

If you’ve been struggling with Long Covid, I’d love to hear from you and see if I can help you on your journey to recovery.
